Our 2021-2022 MV Foundation Den Dash was a HUGE success! Not only did we beat our goal of $50,000 you all helped us CRUSH that goal, raising a WHOPPING $75,000 to give back to our school and students.  And the best part is that we are able to keep 100% of that money earned because we partnered with a wonderful non-profit company, Activate to help organize.  Local businesses helped with the up front sponsorship to get it going and from there - all money is kept 100%.   THANK YOU to all who supported our school and came out to cheer on our students.

To celebrate reaching all of our targets, kids were rewarded with pajama day, hat day, extra recess, dance party dismissals, popcorn parties for classes that raised $1600 (13 classes did this), and pizza parties for the top 5 classes.  Additionally, the top fundraiser(s) and their teachers were able to mummify our very own Dr. Garriss, AP Mrs. Green and school mascot, Roary on the news for all students to be part of the fun.  Probably the most fun event was watching Dr. Garriss and her fearless teachers play Bean Boozled live on the news - and they were not lucky (they had barf, old bandage, liver and onions, and toothpaste flavored jelly beans - just to name a few).

In the last 12-18 months these donations have gone to fund the playshades over the playgrounds and new outdoor classroom to keep our kids safe in the sun.  We've funded ukuleles for the music program, Type to Learn software for all of our students, Stem bins and supplies for all of our Kindergarten and AU classes, provided cooking material for hands on learning for our special needs program, and we've funded the cost of supplies for the NASA-Mountain View joint project that we've been selected for.  With your donations we've been able to supply the school PE and student events with a sound system that works.  Such an exciting time at our school and we love watching these kids flourish.  Thank you for all of your support!

In the Classroom

1. What is the Den Dash?

The Den Dash is a 9-day program and is Foundation's one fundraiser, taking place in November. Families will be getting pledges for the laps their student runs at the Fun Run. Funds raised from this event go toward supporting our STEM program and needed supplies at the school.

2. How can parents register their student(s)?

First, parents log in or sign up on https://gofundschools.com/dendash/  Then, parents can register their student as a participant on the website.

3. How can students get pledges?

Parents can help connect students to sponsors by sharing their pledge link on Facebook, through email, or even a text. Sponsors can enter and pay for those pledges online through your student’s pledge link or write checks payable to Mountain View Foundation!

4. Will my student really run 30 laps? How big is the track?

Yes, even kindergarteners! The Fun Run track is about 1/16th of a mile, 1/4 the size of a normal high school track. The average student will run 30-35 laps and will have a goal to run at least 30 laps to help their school. The most any student will be counted for is 35 laps.

5. Can students receive a prize for flat donations?

Yes! All flat donations count toward pledges and are rounded by 30 (the average student will run over 30 laps). So, a $30 donation is the same as $1 per lap. A $60 donation is the same as $2 per lap, etc.

6. What if families don’t have Internet?

If a student’s family does not have Internet access, parents and families can use the Pledge envelope to record all pledges and send in the payment with the envelope. If students turn their pledge and payment (cash or check)  into their teacher, please make sure student and teacher names are listed on the envelope and make checks payable to Mountain View Foundation.

7. Can I make a pledge if I don’t want to pay online?

YES! You can either turn in the payment for a pledge listed on the Pledge envelop.

8.  Don't forget - many of your employers will match your donation.  Reach out and inquire - these are tax deductible too.  Corporate matches count toward your child and child's class total.

9. Can I Write A Check? For pledges not made online, you can still turn in cash or check. Please make checks out to: Mountain View Foundation
